The Intro …
Ok, for the second full month of Matched Betting the betting profit wasn’t as good as the first full month, but it all adds up!
The reason for this is that I completed most of the sign ups in the first 6 weeks.
This is something you’ll most likey find out for yourself when starting matched betting, once the easy sign ups are done, what next? That’s why I created the advanced strategies to help put all the information there, as hopefully, you could make a bit more betting profit then what I had here.
Let’s start with the stats for August 2020. I was still working full-time, just like last month. During the evenings and weekends, I dedicated my time to matched betting. And of course, I was using the trusty Outplayed software to assist me. I was also reading the forums to find new ideas for matched betting and doing offers.
And just incase you’ve missed it, but I’m using the Outplayed bet tracker to try and remember roughly what the heck I was doing for this month, as I’m writing this in June 2023!
Let’s get into it!
August 2020: Week 1
This is a quick screenshot of the first day of 1/8/2020. The 1st of August 2020 was a Saturday and the 7th August 2020 was a Friday.
In total a betting profit of £27.47 was made for the day.
So, with matched betting, when you start, you could be facing the similar situation of making ‘only’ £20 for a Saturday. I’m not sure how long I spent, but looking at it there was a Bet600 £10 free bet which was likely from there bet and get offer, the Coral Free bets as usual, along with Betway and Betfair Sportsbook, so in all about 2 hours max. So about £10 an hour for ‘easy’ work.
You might be tempted to ‘gamble’ to try and increase the profits, but remember, this is risk free money, and it really does all add up.
Now if you look at my about page you can see the betting profit increase. One of the big changes that led to the increase is what you can see on this screenshot, which is from the 2nd of the month. Hopefully you can see what I was gearing up for!
For the first week of August 2020, a betting profit of £60.93 was made, which also includes that ‘deduction’ taken off.
August 2020: Week 2
This is a quick screenshot of the last day of 14/8/2020. The 8th of August 2020 was a Friday and the 14th August 2020 was a Friday.
For the second week it looks like the same as all previous weeks, relying mainly on Coral, Betfair Sportsbook, Bet600, Betway and getting any free bets come my way.
At this stage in the month we are at £153.97.
August 2020: Week 3
This is a quick screenshot of the last day of 21/8/2020. The 15th of August 2020 was a Saturday and the 21st August 2020 was a Friday.
For the above screenshot, with the filter options on the Outplayed Tracker, when you go to page 2 of August it reverts back to the whole log of bets, so you can see for the 3rd week we are at a betting total of £262.38, which is the second column in from the right.
The column on the right shows £1,404.69 was is the betting total from when I started in June 2020.
You can also see in the top row, when checking my accounts, I was somehow down £5.49. What I did back in the day, at the end of each day, I would login to all the bookmakers, record how much I had in there, so say Sky £200, Betfair £200 and Coral £100, I would add this together to give me a total of £500 currently in the bookies accounts. Then I would check the bank, say £904.69, and then I would see my total amount in the bookmakers and bank (£1,404,.39), and then compare it to the tracker. They should both match up.
At times though, a mistake could be made, like putting in the incorrect number somewhere. It’s not to much to worry about though. At the moment in June 2023 there is a betting total of 2k over what my betting report is, so it’s swings and roundabouts! P.S I do kind of have a clue why it’s over that much. You’ll find out as you read further into the betting reports!
August 2020: Week 4 & 5
This is a quick screenshot of the last day of 31/8/2020. The 22nd of August 2020 was a Saturday and the 28th August 2020 was a Friday.
Talking about tracking the betting total, you can see I was over by £3.44 on the very last row, so it all works out in the end, when you find that bets settle or you find there was an error when adding up the totals.
Pretty much doing all the same standard stuff like the Bet and Gets, which was quick and easy to do and although small amounts, they soon added up.
Conclusion
So, what was the betting total for August 2020?
For the month of August 2020 a betting total of £372.91 was made.
The Betting Total from the starting point of 17th June 2023 is £1,515.22
While not ground breaking, and definitly not enough to turn any heads, I was pretty happy with this. On top of my minimum wage, which I think was £1200 a month or something, I was chuffed! And also keep in mind that this total includes the deductions for the software I used.
So as a summary for August, I was running out of sign ups, but the bet and get reload offers were giving a small amount of daily betting profit, which did add up in the end.
A review of the software used to track and find the bet and get offers is here.
